Our Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, SJ, to improve its members and enhance the communities in which they live by teaching and emulating the principles of Brotherly Love, Tolerance, Charity, and Truth, while actively embracing high social, moral, and spiritual values, including fellowship, compassion, and dedication to God, family, and country.

SCOTTISH RITE CREED

Human progress is our cause, liberty of thought, our supreme wish, freedom of conscience, our mission, and the guarantee of equal rights to all people everywhere our ultimate goal.

SCOTTISH RITE BODIES

Each Valley has up to four Scottish Rite bodies, and each body confers a set of degrees. In the Southern Jurisdiction, these are the Lodge of Perfection (4°–14°), Chapter of Rose Croix (15°–18°), Council of Kadosh (19°–30°), and the Consistory (31°–32°). The Supreme Council confers the 33rd Degree of Sovereign Grand Inspector General.

Knights of St Andrew

The Knights of St. Andrew exist as a service organization on behalf of all members of their Consistory. They provide services wherever they are needed. This includes, but not limited to, aiding the Tylers, acting as greeters, providing escort services for dignitaries or for special events created for the ladies during reunions or other functions, serving as guides, assisting the Scottish degree work, and helping present the Colors. Knights of St. Andrew also assist in the calling of committees, participate in parades or civic activities, promote fund-raising events, and aid in any special event.

APPENDANT BODIES

The Scottish Rite is one of the two branches of Freemasonry in which a Master Mason may proceed after he has completed the three degrees of Symbolic or Blue Lodge Masonry. The other branch is known as the York Rite, consisting of Royal Arch Masons, Royal and Select Masters and the Knights Templar.
